The top places of interest in Marbella
October 4, 2012Should you find yourself in Marbella this autumn, do not frown because your experience is bound to be good as there are literally hundreds of holiday apartments in Marbella. Situated in the Costa del Sol, just half an hour from Malaga International airport, this paradise has many gifts for its visitors. The locals call it a playground for the rich and famous, but this town, located at the base of the Sierra Blanca Mountains, has
everyone’s interest catered for. The many golf courses and amusements parks, lavish architecture and tastefully styled yachts all portray a place where spending money and having a marvelous time are highly prioritized.
Located not far, the Plaza del Los Naranjos, offers those interested in old Spain a glimpse into the lifestyle and architectural design, all thanks to a 17th century house of the magistrate and its older companion-the 16th century town hall. Marbella’s oldest urban park is also to be found in this area- the Parque de la Armada. Art lovers will be glad to know that some of Picasso’s, Tapiesa’s and Miro’s works are housed in this town’s art museum, the Museo Del GrabadoEspañolContemporáneo.
The curious ones interested in observing the lifestyles of the rich and famous are presented with that opportunity on Marbella’s beach area. The Puerto Banus, located west of the city centre, provides these wealthy fun lovers with a mooring location for their expensive yachts and boats as they relax on the chiringuitos, or beachfront bars. Here, you find glitzy clubs and five star restaurants, all tastefully designed. This pomposity gets reduced a few kilometers on both of sides of the marina, extending the full 16 miles to the ends of Marbella’s coastline, since its mostly sun and sand.
