Surrounding Marvels in Marbella
December 19, 2012As a summer resort, Marbella comprises all the needed facilities for a successful vacation, but its surroundings are more than interesting to explore as well. Marbella is surrounded by Sierra de las Nieves, the Guadalforce Valley and the Serrnia of Ronda, which constitute magnificent daytrips for those who choose Marbella as vacation destination. They contribute to the perfect balance between nature and the environment created by man. This great location also has many excellent Marbella apartments available to rent
Sierra de las Nieves is a natural park that borders the Guadalhorce Valley, while Serrania de Ronda is popularly known for its bullfights and festive atmosphere. However, Ronda itself is a place to stroll and enjoy, mostly because of its location on a cliff. The famous New Bridge must not be missed either. It stretches over a river, which starts from the mountains.
For those who can not resist to spend a day apart from the beach, there are multiple places that can be visited during the afternoons. Casares is a village part of Serrania de Ronda, located very close to Marbella. Only 30 minutes drive separate Marbella from the castle built in the 13th century.
Benahavis is another village close to Marbella. This one comprises houses surrounded by greenery, golf courses and luxurious services. However, this village hosts a castle from the 10th century, which is definitely recommended to see.
This short list with different sites located very close to Marbella is meant to know this area from Costa del Sol better and to escape from the tumultuous and young Marbella for a few hours.
