Marbella Fiestas for this fall
October 12, 2012Marbella is one of the most popular tourist destinations in costa de sol. This is due to the fact that the local government realized the true potential of the area and together with private developers; it has done everything possible to make sure that the town remains a great vacation destination for tourists from all over the world.
Despite the fact that Marbella seems to have left behind most of the simple whitewashed Andalucían buildings in exchange for high rise structures, which include some of the luxury Marbella apartments buildings, there are aspects of the old Spanish charm that have been left intact. All you need to do to get a taste of this is to attend one of the countless fiestas that take place in this town to find out.
In a week’s time, Marbella will be celebrating the fiesta of San Pedro de Alcantara. This happens around the 19th of October. It is a celebration of the patron saint. The streets of San Pedro will be decorated and festivities will take place all night.
Another holiday you do not want to miss is the national day in Spain. This occurs on the 12th of October. It is a celebration of the Spanish cultural heritage. It is the day the locals get to express their patriotism for their country and celebrate their culture as a community. Fireworks, parades, singing, dancing and lots of merrymaking are the norm in all of the festivities that take place in Marbella.
